Do you ever find songs running in your head? I expect that most people do at one time or another.
For me, it’s not typically the song you hear on the radio and can’t get it out of your head. Most of the songs I’ve got going on aren’t ones I’ve heard recently on the radio. You might challenge me on that, thinking that I heard it somewhere and was unaware. But I’m pretty sure that the song running on a loop last week wasn’t on the radio. Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer. That’s right, a Christmas tune.
Who’s spinning these tunes in my head?
There’s only one culprit — it’s My Creative Mojo. The mad scientist working 24/7 to make jokes, new words, and run Christmas songs through my head like I’m at Target in mid-November — yes, that’s right, Target plays Christmas music before thanksgiving. It’s why I prefer ordering online and playing my own music selection on iTunes. That way I can do my Christmas shopping to Surfin’ Safari, or Wipeout, or even Pablo Picasso from the Repo Man Soundtrack.
So I’m going to start a playlist with the songs running through my head. Each time I find a new one playing, I’ll add it to the list and bump the others down. We’ll see what the list looks like when I get to #20.
“The Music Playing In My Head” Playlist:
1. Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer.

Hello there, Happy April Fool’s Day!
The Irish girl knelt in the confessional and said, “Bless me, Father, for I have sinned.”
“What is it, child?”
The girl said, “Father, I have committed the sin of vanity. Twice a day I gaze at myself in the mirror and tell myself how beautiful I am.”
The priest turned, took a good look at the girl, and said, “My dear, I have good news. That isn’t a sin – it’s only a mistake.”
Happy April Fool’s Day!
